Class six wraps it all together and gets you ready to either teach or be able to apply what you have learned to your personal practice. We will be reviewing all the anatomy from classes 1-5 in a comprehensive question and answer session.We will present an in-depth study of the science of meditation (which you will have been working on) and its affects on the brain and our overall chemistry.
We will present an in-depth lecture regarding teaching of yoga including class types, music, sequencing, incorporative philosophy, pranayama, and commanding a group.
An in-depth analysis on the business of yoga and how to market yourself will complete the weekend. The last two days will include teaching methodology oral examinations regarding creation, instruction, observation, direct experience and critical analysis of your peers. Class runs from 9am -5:30 each day and includes both academic workshops and practical studio class work.
The Yoga Integrated Science 200 hour program, comprised of six courses over seven weekends and is approved to meet the Yoga Alliance 200 hour requirements. This program is for anyone who wants to learn about the system of Yoga to deepen their practice or become a certified yoga instructor. This program will cover the origins of Hatha Yoga, historical and scientific information on flexibility and range of motion, structural anatomy and basic mechanics of lower body, trunk and spine, upper body and cervical regions of the body, and a comprehensive analysis of various applicable Hatha Yoga Poses.
This program will also include an introduction to the science of adjusting, how to incorporate yoga props, yoga philosophy and ethics, pranayama/ breathing techniques and meditation, general sequencing techniques, the business of Yoga, and a daily yoga practice. Several of the most influential Yoga Styles and methods will be introduced, analyzed, and directly experienced. If you are already a 200 hour instructor or have not intention of ever pursuing this certification, you may take an individual class independently by registering for a single two day or three day course.
