Class Four will cover the anatomy of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand joints. This area of the body is often referred to as the Heart chakra, which lies in the center or all we do. In this course, we will be analyzing and experiencing several upper body poses to reinforce the lecture. Learn the art of teaching to multiple levels, an introduction to the realities of aging, plus guidelines for teaching to the deconditioned and/or senior population. Discover the qualities of leadership to be able to effectively inspire others to participate in their health.
The Yoga Integrated Science 200 hour program, comprised of six courses over seven weekends and is approved to meet the Yoga Alliance 200 hour requirements. This program is for anyone who wants to learn about the system of Yoga to deepen their practice or become a certified yoga instructor. This program will cover the origins of Hatha Yoga, historical and scientific information on flexibility and range of motion, structural anatomy and basic mechanics of lower body, trunk and spine, upper body and cervical regions of the body, and a comprehensive analysis of various applicable Hatha Yoga Poses.
This program will also include an introduction to the science of adjusting, how to incorporate yoga props, yoga philosophy and ethics, pranayama/ breathing techniques and meditation, general sequencing techniques, the business of Yoga, and a daily yoga practice. Several of the most influential Yoga Styles and methods will be introduced, analyzed, and directly experienced. If you are already a 200 hour instructor or have not intention of ever pursuing this certification, you may take an individual class independently by registering for a single two day or three day course.
