Yoga I.S. Mechanix™ Foundations II | 300 Hour Teacher Training Program
March 16, 2019 - March 17, 2019$500
This is the second part of the workshop on the mechanics behind yoga props.
This workshop takes place on Saturday 2/16/19 and Sunday 2/17/19 from 9:30-5:00 and Sunday, 10/15, from 9:30-4:00.
This class is a required part of the 300 hour Certification Program. It may also be taken by anyone wanting to learn more about how to integrate props and tools into their yoga practice.
About this course:
It is common to see people using many sorts of yoga props. Most practitioners are familiar with blocks, straps, bolsters, and blankets in the practice of yoga.
This is the second part of the 2 weekend workshops that address the mechanics behind common yoga props. Learn to define when and why using various types of resistance equipment might be necessary for specific people and specific goals.
Students will be exploring how to understand force, how to manipulate it, and why it is the primary stimulant in the practice of Hatha Yoga.
The class will explore why adding external forces to the already challenging internal resistance created in your Yoga practice challenges the body in new ways.
Learn the importance of owning and understanding the mechanics behind our body’s natural force producers, muscle, before we add any outside challenges. Once these concepts are understood students will see yoga props in a whole new light.
As the weekend progresses, we will be exploring the mechanics of non-traditional yoga props like resistance bands and tubes, hand weights, weighted bars. We will also work with the more common yoga props like straps and blocks, as well as Pilates rings and mini balls.
This 2 day workshop will include classroom time and studio time. Students will gain hands on experience with the concepts presented in this course.
