Yoga Foundation RYS 200

The weekend includes an introduction to Yoga IS, plus a brief history of yoga. This class begins the foundation of Yoga IS with an introduction to yoga asana and inspirational yogic philosophy including the Yamas and the Niyamas. Learn about the ethical guidelines of of yoga from a historical perspective as well as how they relate to today.
The anatomy based Yoga Integrated Science 200 hour teacher training program, composed of seven weekend courses, is approved to meet the Yoga Alliance 200 hour requirements. This program is for anyone who wants to learn about the system of Yoga to deepen their practice or become a certified yoga instructor. This program will cover the origins of Hatha Yoga, historical and scientific information on flexibility and range of motion, structural anatomy and basic mechanics of lower body, trunk and spine, upper body and cervical regions of the body, comprehensive analysis of various applicable Hatha Yoga Poses, an introduction to the science of adjusting, how to incorporate yoga props, yoga philosophy and ethics, pranayama/ breathing techniques, the science of meditation, general sequencing techniques, and the business of Yoga. There will be daily yoga practices in the course and each participant will enjoy unlimited access to studio classes while enrolled in the course. This course can add a valuable skillset to any health professional who works with individuals or groups, help someone to create a career in witih yoga, and most importantly deepen one’s understanding of yoga, their body, and their overall health. Several of the most influential Yoga Styles and methods will be introduced, analyzed, and directly experienced when applicable.
