Meditation, Methodology, and Management is the 6th and final unit in the Yoga Integrated Science yoga teacher training course.
In this 3 day workshop style class we will be reviewing all the anatomy the course has exposed students to in a comprehensive question and answer session. Students will experience an in-depth study of the science of meditation and its affects on the brain and our overall chemistry. An in-depth lecture regarding the teaching of yoga including class types, music, sequencing, incorporative philosophy, pranayama, and commanding a group will also be presented. Lastly, a deep analysis on the business of yoga and how to market yourself will complete the weekend.
The last two days of the weekend workship will include teaching methodology oral examinations regarding creation, instruction, observation, direct experience and critical analysis of your peers.
About the Yoga Integrated Science 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Course
The Yoga Integrated Science 200 hour yoga teacher training certification program is an anatomy based yoga teacher training program. This program is composed of 6 individual emersive, workshop-style units over a 6 month period. Each course unit is composed of 2 or 3 full days, depending on the unit. The program meets once a month in Louisville, Kentucky, at the Yoga Integrated Science Wellness Center.
This program meets the Yoga Alliance 200 hour requirements when taken as a full course. All Yoga Integrated Science yoga teacher training program course units are appropriate for anyone who wants to learn about the system of Yoga. Individual course units can be taken as continuing education or to further your presonal knowledge in an area.
The full certification program will cover the following topics:
- The origins of Hatha Yoga
- The history and science of flexibility and range of motion
- Structural anatomy and basic mechanics of lower body, trunk and spine, upper body and cervical regions of the body
- Comprehensive analysis of various applicable Hatha Yoga Poses
- Introduction to the science of adjusting and how to incorporate yoga props
- Yoga philosophy
- The ethics of yoga
- Pranayama/ breathing techniques
- General sequencing techniques
- The business of Yoga
Daily yoga practice and studio membership is included with full course registration. During your course, several of the most influential yoga styles and methods will be introduced, analyzed, and directly experienced.

She is a Certified IAYT Yoga Therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapists® and a Yoga Alliance® Continuing Education Provider (YACEP), she is the developer of the Yoga I.S.® method for Yoga, Barre, and Pilates-based classes, including the Yoga I.S. Mechanix™ method.

Donna joins Yoga I.S® with over 35 years of teaching experience. Donna was inspired originally by her first teacher, Maja Trigg, in 1969. Maja was the founder of Yoga East in Louisville, KY.

Donna holds certifications in Integrative Yoga Therapy®, Yamana® Ball, and Hatha Yoga. She is a licensed HeartMath® Provider, specializing in Biofeedback and stress management. Donna has taught in fitness centers, yoga studios, hospitals, wellness retreats, and the women’s prison system. She is the creator of a meditative style of movement called “Feel, Follow, and Flow™” and is in the process of completing a visualization book called “Imagine You are Doing It Right™”. She has had extensive training in Ashtanga Yoga, Ayruvedic Yoga, Pranayama, and Meditation.
