About this course:
A large number of people in the US are suffering from sciatic conditions such as pain and inflexibility. A good number of them decide to seek out yoga as a source of relief but neuromuscular issues such as pain, numbness, loss of balance and organ dysfunction are complicated to address.
As more people search for ways to combat their sciatic conditions in yoga class it is important for yoga teachers to understand the anatomy of the area. It is also important to understand the repetitive activities and positions that could be the cause.
This 2 days workshop introduces a brief overview of the anatomy in the trunk and spine musculature. We will also discuss common potential causes for some of the most painful sciatic conditions. Students will also explore ways to discuss sciatic issues with students. We will also explore options for addressing these common issues.
Students will learn to apply specific therapeutic yoga techniques for improving neuromuscular integrity. A focus on overall muscle contractile-ability and joint function will accompany. Students will learn to craft and cue classes to help your clients combat this uncomfortable condition.
This workshop includes time in the classroom, work in small groups, and time in the studio where students will put into practice the things they have learned.
