Align and Restore is the 5th unit in the Yoga Integrated Science yoga teacher training course.
This 3 day workshop style class focuses on an introduction to the joint anatomy and mechanical abilities of the cervical and capital spine. Three major inverted poses will be addressed, experienced and analyzed. An introduction to restorative yoga will be presented, including a western explanation of ancient nadis and the chakra system with a comparison to our central nervous system. Experience a chakra-based practice. Unit Five will use all the anatomy and biomechanics we have learned in classes 1-4 to introduce the intricate science of adjusting from all asana categories. By this weekend students will have had a lot of teaching experience, verbalizing what they are learning to others.
About the Yoga Integrated Science 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Course
The Yoga Integrated Science 200 hour yoga teacher training certification program is an anatomy based yoga teacher training program. This program is composed of seven individual emersive, workshop-style units over a 7 month period. Each course unit is composed of 2 or 3 full days, depending on the unit. The program meets once a month in Louisville, Kentucky, at the Yoga Integrated Science Wellness Center.
This program meets the Yoga Alliance 200 hour requirements when taken as a full course. All Yoga Integrated Science yoga teacher training program course units are appropriate for anyone who wants to learn about the system of Yoga. Individual course units can be taken as continuing education or to further your presonal knowledge in an area.
The full certification program will cover the following topics:
- The origins of Hatha Yoga
- The history and science of flexibility and range of motion
- Structural anatomy and basic mechanics of lower body, trunk and spine, upper body and cervical regions of the body
- Comprehensive analysis of various applicable Hatha Yoga Poses
- Introduction to the science of adjusting and how to incorporate yoga props
- Yoga philosophy
- The ethics of yoga
- Pranayama/ breathing techniques
- General sequencing techniques
- The business of Yoga
Daily yoga practice and studio membership is included with full course registration. During your course, several of the most influential yoga styles and methods will be introduced, analyzed, and directly experienced.
