This class may be taken alone and is a required content for the 300 hour Certification Program.
About this course:
This weekend is designed to address the muscular system of the upper body, including its function and relevance to the study of joint mechanics for the teaching or practice of Hatha Yoga.
Students will learn how to apply specific range of motion evaluations for the upper body to yoga poses. Workshop attendees will learn how to craft adjustments and modifications for both group or individual clients.
We will explore why shoulder injuries are so common in yoga and what we can do to prevent them. We will discuss therapeutic applications for common shoulder, elbow, and wrist | hand ailments in yoga in detail. Students will get applicable techniques and hands-on experience for one-on-one clients or group settings.
This is one of the seven required courses in our 300 hour program and can be taken as an elective on its own. To enroll in the entire 300 hour program, register for all required courses (177 credit hours) $3,040 at one price, which is discounted $500. The remaining course electives (123 Credit hours) can be taken according to your own interest one at a time
Students will be exploring course material through hands on tutorials. Expect to spend time both on the mat and in the classroom. There will also be additional opportunities to observe or participate in studio classes to further reinforce the material.
