Yoga Integrated Science 200 hour Course is a seven month course (seven weekends) that will teach you how to teach others, how to deepen your practice, and how to improve your understanding of both the ancient tradition of you and its relationship to the goals of today’s needs with heath and fitness. Learn to communicate with other allied health professionals, as Yoga Therapy is being prescribed more and more as an alternative to traditional medical care. This course meets ONE weekend a month with plenty of time to work study between scheduled classes

So many new yoga teachers are ill-prepared to work with the many types of special student populations due to a lack of anatomical knowledge, class design, and leadership ability. Yoga Integrated Science teacher training programs are based in anatomy and bio-mechanics. You will gain an understanding of how the body works and of how yoga poses can influence the body in different ways.
About the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program:
This anatomy based Yoga Integrated Science 200 hour yoga teacher training program is composed of seven, two and 3 day weekend courses that meet once a month. The program consists of classroom lecture, studio practice and online reading and homework assignments.
This program is approved to meet the Yoga Alliance 200 hour requirements. Our yoga teacher training program is perfect for anyone who wants to become a certified yoga instructor. This program is also great for anyone who wants to learn about the system of Yoga to deepen their own personal practice.
- The origins of Hatha Yoga
- Historical and scientific information on flexibility and range of motion
structural anatomy and basic mechanics of lower body, trunk and spine, upper body and cervical regions
- Comprehensive analysis of various applicable Hatha Yoga Poses.

Included in the course is a daily yoga practice plus unlimited studio membership throughout the entire course! Several of the most influential Yoga Styles and methods will be introduced, analyzed, and directly experienced.

Class One: Yoga Foundations (2 Days)
The first weekend of Class one includes an introduction to Yoga IS, plus a brief history of yoga. This class begins the foundation of Yoga IS with the an introduction to yoga Asana and inspirational yogic philosophy including the Yamas and the Niyamas. Learn about the ethical guidelines of yoga from a historical perspective as well as how they relate to today.
Class Two: Science of Flexibility (2 days)
This two- day weekend of class one explores the science of flexibility and its historical continuity. Learn about where range of motion comes from and the many theories about stretching. Observing the most current research today, see how joint range can be improved without stretching. Learn basic neurophysiology and how muscles create tension.
Class Three: Essential Biomechanics of Hatha Yoga (3 Days)
In class two we will explore joint anatomy in general of the foot, lower leg, knee, and hip. We will begin a comprehensive analysis of several lower body postures with study and practice. This weekend introduces the study of biomechanics as we learn about yoga props and their uses. See why Hatha Yoga is defined as force-ful yoga. Foundational Yoga philosophy includes the nine major mental, physical obstacles to yoga and exercise in general as well as an introductory look at the book the Bhagavad Gita with the 20 Values necessary for an enlightened being.
Class Four: Core Yoga and Vinyasa (3 Days)
This weekend is devoted to the trunk and spine, its structure and mechanical abilities. We will look at several trunk-related yoga postures in-depth to reinforce the material. We will start looking at pranayama and vinyasa and the anatomy of the respiratory system. Also introduced is YOGression™: the science of yoga sequencing, with creation, observation, and feedback. An introduction to the process of vinyasa yoga will be covered.
Class Five: Science of Aging and Wellness (3 Days)
Class Four will cover the anatomy of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand joints. This area of the body is often referred to as the heart chakra, which lies in the center or all we do. In this course, we will be analyzing and experiencing several upper body poses to reinforce the lecture. Learn the art of teaching to multiple levels, an introduction to the realities of aging, plus guidelines for teaching to the deconditioned and/or senior population. Discover the qualities of leadership to be able to effectively inspire others to participate in their health.
Class Six: Align & Restore (3 Days)
Class Five includes an introduction to the joint anatomy and mechanical abilities of the cervical and capital spine. Three major inverted poses will be addressed, experienced and analyzed. An introduction to restorative yoga will be presented including a western explanation of ancient nadis and the chakra system with a comparison to our central nervous system. Experience a chakra-based practice. Class Five will use all the anatomy and biomechanics we have learned in classes 1-4 to introduce the intricate science of adjusting from all asana categories. By this weekend students will have had a lot of teaching experience, verbalizing what they are learning to others.
Class Seven: Meditation, Methodology, and Management (3 Days)
Class six wraps it all together and gets you ready to either teach or be able to apply what you have learned to your personal practice. We will be reviewing all the anatomy from classes 1-5 in a comprehensive question and answer session. We will present an in-depth study of the science of meditation (which you will have been working on) and its effects on the brain and our overall chemistry. We will present an in-depth lecture regarding teaching of yoga including class types, music, sequencing, incorporating philosophy, pranayama, and commanding a group. An in-depth analysis on
the business of yoga and how to market yourself will complete the weekend. The last two days will include teaching methodology oral examinations regarding creation, instruction, observation, direct experience and critical analysis of your peers.
